Shut Down!
Does your business close over Christmas? Maybe your business shuts down over most of January? We all need a break and the Christmas / New Year period is certainly a great excuse to have one. While your doors are closed will your social media shut down as well?
The marketing we do may work well for immediate sales, but it also goes a long way for future sales. Not everyone who sees your product or service advertised on Social Media will want it today. You may not need the extra business today, tomorrow and certainly not over the holidays but where are your sales coming from when you return? What about the month after that and the month after that.
“It’s not enough to have purpose yourself. You have to create a sense of purpose for others. — Mark Zuckerberg
While your competitors are having a break from their businesses and social media, how do you feel about being the business out there giving your current and potential clients purpose? Purpose to ‘get that job done’ or ‘order that product’ or ‘think about that project’ or even ‘start next years Christmas shopping’?
The thing is, it’s been a long year, and all we can think about is taking that well-earned break. We’re exhausted. We deserve some time out. But. Not everyone will be taking a break. Not everyone will be going to a stunning location without wifi. Some of us will be sitting around at home sipping on wine checking our social media because we have extra time on our hands. And…. some people, believe it or not, will be at work. Can you imagine if our hospitals decided to close over the Christmas and New Year period? Not all businesses will shut down and people are still around, doing what they always do, and still on social media. Their social media habits won’t stop so yours shouldn’t either.
So, with this in mind, what are you going to do now? Do you know you can schedule posts in advance? You’ll have to get a little creative if you’re not used to scheduling posts. Be strategic in your content, because while other businesses are not posting, you, are not only present but will post something so profoundly eye or interest catching, your current and future clients will have no choice to sit up and listen.
Call me if you’re not sure how to schedule advance posts. I’m more than happy to talk you thorough it. Until then, keep posting, keep showcasing and keep sharing because your business is worth it.
